Circle song
Hands go up and hands go down
I can turn myself around
I can stand up on one shoe
I can listen, so can you
I can sit, I'll show you how
Circle time* is starting now
*) cleaning time / line-up time
With special thanks to Marloes Snoek

Gestures:
hold your hands up. opened in a questioning gesture when

Ask the children for toppings: Onions, cheese,
tomatoes, sweet peppers, salami, etc.
The children can say what we will have on the pizza,
but the one that says (for instance) ‘cheese’
has to stand in the middle and act out cheese….
Repeat Part A
We’re going to make a Pizza, a Pizza, a Pizza.
We’re going to make a Pizza, the nicest Pizza in the
world.
What do we put on
the Pizza, the Pizza, the Pizza.

We have got ……… (e.g. cheese) What else?
The children can say what we will have next on the
pizza, but the one that says (for instance) ‘tomatoes’
has to stand in the middle and act out tomatoes….
Repeat Part A

Part B
Now we open the oven (with
both hands act as if you open a big oven-door)
we put the pizza in the oven (
act as if you slide in the pizza)
and we close the oven (with
both hands act as if you close a big oven-door)
(hold hands to indicate the oven is closed and move
your hands up and down to indicate the baking process)
(the children in the middle have to act out melting
cheese and simmering food items)
We’re going to bake
a Pizza, a Pizza, a Pizza.
We’re going to bake
a Pizza, the nicest Pizza in the world.
Is it ready yet? Let’s look!
We open the oven (with
both hands act as if you open a big oven-door)
We look and we snif! No, not yet!
so we close the oven (with
both hands act as if you close a big oven-door)

make a sawing movement with one hand when you use the
word ‘slice’
We’re going to eat
the Pizza, the Pizza, the Pizza.
We’re going to eat
the Pizza, the nicest Pizza in the world.
alternate moving your left and right hand from where a
plate would be to your mouth when you use the word ‘eat’
Now we are full
(make a big belly)
we are so full
(make a bigger belly)
we have to sit down….
(pretend you’re pregnant and have everybody retake
their seats)
