Pizza chant

Make a Pizza – Chant (with gestures, chant without is given below)

Part A
We’re going to make a Pizza, a Pizza, a Pizza.
We’re going to make a Pizza, the nicest Pizza in the world.
Gestures:
make a horizontal circle in front of you when you say ‘pizza’
rub your belly when you say ‘nicest’
make the gesture for globe in front of you when you say ‘world’

What do we put on the Pizza, the Pizza, the Pizza.
What do we put on the Pizza, the nicest Pizza in the world.
Gestures:
hold your hands up. opened in a questioning gesture when you say ‘what’’
point downwards when you say ‘on’
+ the gestures mentioned above

Ask the children for toppings: Onions, cheese, tomatoes, sweet peppers, salami, etc.
The children can say what we will have on the pizza, but the one that says (for instance) ‘cheese’
has to stand in the middle and act out cheese….

Repeat Part A
We’re going to make a Pizza, a Pizza, a Pizza.
We’re going to make a Pizza, the nicest Pizza in the world.
What do we put on the Pizza, the Pizza, the Pizza.
What do we put on the Pizza, the nicest Pizza in the world.
+
We have got ……… (e.g. cheese) What else?
The children can say what we will have next on the pizza, but the one that says (for instance) ‘tomatoes’
has to stand in the middle and act out tomatoes….

Repeat Part A
We’re going to make a Pizza, a Pizza, a Pizza.
We’re going to make a Pizza, the nicest Pizza in the world.
What do we put on the Pizza, the Pizza, the Pizza.
What do we put on the Pizza, the nicest Pizza in the world.
+
We have got ……… (e.g. cheese and tomatoes) What else?
Repeat the sequence until you have a nice pizza…

Part B
Now we open the oven (with both hands act as if you open a big oven-door)
we put the pizza in the oven ( act as if you slide in the pizza)
and we close the oven (with both hands act as if you close a big oven-door)
(hold hands to indicate the oven is closed and move your hands up and down to indicate the baking process)
(the children in the middle have to act out melting cheese and simmering food items)

We’re going to bake a Pizza, a Pizza, a Pizza.
We’re going to bake a Pizza, the nicest Pizza in the world.

Is it ready yet? Let’s look!
We open the oven (with both hands act as if you open a big oven-door)
We look and we snif! No, not yet!
so we close the oven (with both hands act as if you close a big oven-door)
(hold hands to indicate the oven is closed and move your hands up and down to indicate the baking process)
(the children in the middle have to act out melting cheese and simmering food items)

We’re going to bake a Pizza, a Pizza, a Pizza.
We’re going to bake a Pizza, the nicest Pizza in the world.

So, we take the pizza out…
(act as if you slide the pizza out of the oven)

make a sawing movement with one hand when you use the word ‘slice’

We’re going to eat the Pizza, the Pizza, the Pizza.
We’re going to eat the Pizza, the nicest Pizza in the world.
alternate moving your left and right hand from where a plate would be to your mouth when you use the word ‘eat’

Now we are full
(make a big belly)
we are so full
(make a bigger belly)
we have to sit down….
(pretend you’re pregnant and have everybody retake their seats)
